
One Point Separates Saints and First Place After Day Two
Liberal, Kansas – Seward County Men's Tennis continued their success on the national stage on Tuesday as they grew their point total to 26 to place themselves tied for fifth with one point separating them from the four teams tied for first place in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Day two did not start as Seward County hoped as their number one in Samuel Antwi fell to his opponent from Weatherford 6-3, 4-6, 4-6 despite Antwi grabbing the first set. The rest of the day was full of wins for the Saints as Sebastian De Las Salas advanced to the quarterfinals with a straight set win 6-2 and 7-5. Cem Atlamis (6-0, 6-2), David Roseler (6-4, 6-1), Ognjen Gajic (6-1, 6-2), and Antoine Adamiak (6-4, 6-1) all grabbed wins of their own in singles competition and will also compete tomorrow in the quarterfinal matchups.
Despite falling in singles competition, Antwi was able to make it to the quarterfinals round in doubles along with his partner in Atlamis as they won 6-4 and 6-4 in straight sets. Adamiak and Roseler will also make their way to the quarterfinals in doubles action after taking down their foes 6-2 and 6-0 while Gajic and De Las Salas join them in the next round after a 6-1 and 6-3 win as well.
Seward County will continue their NJCAA National Tournament run tomorrow bright and early down in Texas as they continue to fight for the number one spot.
