Saints Esports Post-Season Preview

Liberal, KS – The Seward County Saints Esports team has officially finished their first appearance in the NJCAAE during the Fall Regular season. During the first semester of competition, two teams have made it to the postseason and will start the playoffs this week.

The Saints Madden '24 team, made up of Dwayne Moran and Akele Powdrill, played at the top of the leaderboard all season. Powdrill finished at #4 in the league and Moran finished at #9. The Madden 24 playoffs will start Wednesday, November 29th. Because of their rank in the final standings, both Moran and Powdrill will receive a bye game for the first round of competition, with Powdrill also receiving a bye for the second round of competition. Moran will face off against his first opponent from Lakeland Community College during round 2 at 6:30pm Wednesday night. Powdrill will face off against the winner of the Danville Area Community College vs Kirtland Community College that same evening. Playoffs will continue Wednesday, December 6th at 5pm.

The Saints Rocket League team is the second team heading to the postseason this semester. The team, consisting of Fabian Tarango, Jesus Muniz, Eileen Romo, and Akele Powdrill, will queue in and take on their first opponent from SUNY Onondaga Community College. They will play a best of 5 set starting at approximately 5:15 PM on Friday, December 1st. The Saints finished the season at #15, taking on the SUNYOCC group who are currently ranked at #18. If the Saints win, they'll move immediately to the second round of competition starting at approximately 6:30 PM that same night. The Rocket League playoffs will finish on Friday, December 8th with the two teams left standing competing in a best of 7 format.
