In his first year at the helm for the Lady Saints, Marchino led his team to a 17-15 overall record while going .500 in conference play at 12-12 to finish 6th in the standings in one of the most competitive conferences in the NJCAA. The Lady Saints faced multiple Top 25 opponents throughout the season including the eventual NJCAA National Champions in Hutchinson and grabbed some big wins as well including a first-round win against Pratt at home 56-50 to kick off the Region VI Tournament. Marchino saw two of his players earn All-KJCCC honors led by a top five rebounder in the NJCAA in Allie Myers who broke the single season record in rebounds for Seward County at 389. Four players for Marchino signed on to the four-year level with Jamia Carter (Portland State) and Xoe Rosalez (Youngstown State) each signing with Division I programs.
Marchino returns to Seward County after spending a season at the NCAA Division 2 Washburn. While working as an assistant for the Washburn Women's Basketball team, Marchino also served as the head coach for the JV team.
During his time at Seward as an Assistant Coach from 2020-2022, the Lady Saints won 72% of their games. In his last season with the program, the team had four Top 25 wins, finished in the Region VI semi-finals, and had six players sign with an NCAA school to continue their basketball and academic careers.
Prior to his first stint in Liberal, Marchino was an assistant coach for Grand View University. During his second year at Grand View, Marchino helped lead the Vikings to the 2018 NAIA Division I National Tournament in Billings, Montana. It was Grand View's first DI National Tournament appearance in school history. During his time with the Vikings, Grand View made four appearances inside the Top-25 NAIA programs for academics.
Before making the jump to the college ranks, Marchino was the varsity girls’ basketball head coach at Iowa Christian Academy. He took one of the smallest school jobs in the state and increased participation and win total in each of his three seasons. Marchino helped send four players on to play in the college ranks during his time at ICA. In his final season with the Blazers, he led them to a regular season record of 15-8 and won a district tournament game for the first time in five years.
Marchino also owned and operated his own AAU program, the Iowa Dragons, for eight years with his wife, Amanda Marchino. They created and built the program from the ground up. The Iowa Dragons had over 100 athletes involved in their program ranging from 3rd through 11th-grade girls. In 2016 the program was recognized as an Under Armour grassroots program. Marchino helped send multiple ladies onto the college ranks to play basketball in the eight years as a program director while traveling the country playing in tournaments all year long.
