Freshman (2014-2015): Speer played in 26 games for the Lady Saints during her freshman season, averaging 1.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per night while shooting a team best 58% from the floor.  Playing a reserve role on the Lady Saints National Tournament team in 2014-2015, Speer put together a few solid games for Coach Toby Wynn and Seward in limited action.  In a three game stretch in later Novermber and early December, Speer averaged 8.5 points per game for Seward, scoring a career high 12 against Trinidad State followed by five against Fort Carson and eight against Northwest Kansas Tech.  A consistent contributor on the boards, Speer had a rebound in 22 of 26 appearances including a career high 6 in Seward's Region VI Tournament opening round victory over Neosho County and 5 in the Lady Saints win over Lake Region State in the NJCAA National Tournament.  

High School: Speer came to Seward County after playing for four seasons at Dighton High School under Coach Amy Felker.  As a senior at Dighton, Speer averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds per game, earning her 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-League honors.  She led Dighton to a runner-up finish in the NW Kansas League as a senior and a 3rd place finish at the Kansas State Tournament.  She also averaged more than 10 points per game in both her sophomore and junior seasons at Dighton where she picked up two more All-League awards.  Speer wasn't just a star in basketball for Dighton as she was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2013 State Volleyball Tournament and was a State Champion in triple jump in 2013 on the track.  Speer's athletic talents come quite natural to her as her mother Amy was a basketball player at Barton and then at Friends University while her father Dean was a football player at McPherson.  She has four sisters, Hannah (20), Jordan (16), Lani (6), and Carlie (6), and a brother, Benjamin (19).
