Pair of Lady Saints Sign to Play at 4-Year Schools

LIBERAL, Kan. - Sophomore Lady Saints Mollie Mounsey and Brennyn Seagler both signed their letter of intent on Wednesday.  Mounsey will continue her career at Colorado State with the Rams, while Seagler will become a Star at Oklahoma City University.

Mounsey had a dominating freshman season for the Lady Saints, scoring 143 three-pointers, which led the country.  Mounsey led the Lady Saints in scoring at 19.9 points per game en route to an All-American season.  She was the first Lady Saints since 2007 to be named an All-American in her freshman campaign. She had a career-high 40 points against Garden City on February 27 shooting 13-20 from the floor, including 10 three pointers.  She was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week three times her freshman year.  She finished the season scoring in double-figures in 34 straight games. For her efforts, Mounsey was invited to, and participated in the NJCAA All-Star Weekend this summer in Niceville, Flordia.

Mounsey will head to Fort Collins to play for the Rams under head coach Ryun Williams.  The Rams finished 25-9 a season ago.

As a freshman, Seagler played a vital role for the Lady Saints. She played in 32 games, starting in 31 of them, averaging 7.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 40% from the floor.  She had a dominated Cloud County in their two matchups, scoring a career-high 16 points in one game and rebounding a career-high 10 boards in the other.

Seagler will join the 2016 NAIA National Champion Oklahoma City University Stars.  She will play under head coach Bo Overton and will look to bring home the Stars 10th National Championship.

Of OCU, Saints Head Coach Toby Wynn said: "Outside of the top 60 Division-1 programs, Oklahoma City is as good as any, regardless of level."

Mounsey and Seagler, and the rest of the Lady Saints, will open Jayhawk Conference play on Saturday (Nov. 11) when they take on rival Hutchinson at 6:00 p.m. in the Greenhouse.
