43 Seward County Student Athletes Earn NJCAA All¬-Academic Honors

Following the 2023-24 Academic calendar year, Seward County had 43 student-athletes recognized in the NJCAA with All-Academic honors after putting in the hard work in the classroom to keep their grades up to at least a 3.60 throughout the entire academic year.
Gomez Remains in Kansas with Swedes

After spending the past two years with Seward County and helping lead the Lady Saints to their best season in recent years while breaking records along the way, Samantha Gomez has made the decision to sign with Bethany College and suit up for the Swedes in the 2025 season at the four-year level.
Tudon Inks with Waldorf Warriors

Noemi Tudon helped lead the Seward County Lady Saints softball team to their best season since 2018 and after wrapping up her career in Liberal, she will be heading to Forest City Iowa to continue her athletic and academic career after signing with Waldorf University to join the Warriors in the 2025 season.
Dan Artamenko Steps Down as Athletic Director

After five years as the leader of Seward County athletics, Dan Artamenko has stepped down as the Athletic Director for the Saints as he moves on to the next part of his career at the NCAA DIII level with Lakeland University as their new Athletic Director.
Seward County Athletics Recognizes Spring Honor Roll

The Seward County Community College Athletic Department is proud to announce the Spring 2024 Athletic Director Honor Roll. Qualifying standards are met by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher in non-remedial courses and complete 12 or more credit hours for the semester.
Record Breaker Gutierrez Signs with Rangers

After climbing the record books this past season for the Seward County Lady Saints’ softball team, Aaliyah Gutierrez has made her decision to continue both her athletic and academic career at the four-year level as she has signed with Northwestern Oklahoma State University for the 2025 season.
Gutierrez Leads Three Lady Saints in All-KJCCC Honors

After wrapping up the 2024 season this past weekend in the Region VI Tournament, the Seward County Lady Saints softball team saw three of their players named to the All-Conference teams led by Aaliyah Gutierrez who was named to the First Team while Raeana Ortiz and Anberlin O’Dell were placed on the Second Team.
Lady Saints End Season Despite Late Comeback

Day one of the Region VI Tournament was a tale of two games for Seward County as they dominated game one 13-0 against the Trojans before collapsing 16-0 in a loss to Butler. On day two the Lady Saints took the field against Dodge City where despite a three-run homer in the seventh by Alyna Frazier to stay in reach, Seward County saw their 2024 season come to an unfortunate end.
Lady Saints Triumph Over Trojans but Fall to Grizzlies

On Saturday the Region VI Tournament kicked off with the fifth seeded Seward County Lady Saints softball team taking on the fourth seeded Colby Trojans where SCCC got revenge from their last encounter with a 13-0 win to advance into the semifinals of the winner’s bracket but fell soon after to the number one seed in the Butler Grizzlies.

Seward County softball started their conference schedule on fire but lately have seen their flame drowned over the past week and a half as the Lady Saints now end their regular season schedule with two losses against the one seeded Butler Grizzlies in El Dorado as both teams now prepare for the Region VI playoffs.
Lady Saints Squeak by With Split Against Dodge City

Wednesday afternoon marked the final time of the 2024 season as the Seward County Lady Saints softball team honored their four sophomores before taking on Dodge City where despite a late comeback in game one that fell one run short, SCCC managed to hold strong for a game two win to split the doubleheader.
Lady Saints Swept by Colby Due to Costly Errors

After seeing their win streak snapped on the road this past weekend, the Seward County Lady Saints softball team brought those struggles back home as they fell in a sweep to the Colby Trojans to start the final week of the regular season with nine errors between the two games against their Jayhawk rival.

Saturday afternoon the Seward County Lady Saints made a trip out to Hutchinson for a battle between two of the top three teams in the KJCCC where unfortunately the Lady Saints saw their win streak come to an end as they fell to the Blue Dragons in a doubleheader sweep on the road.

Seward County softball continued their win streak on Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep over the Pratt Beavers where in both games the two teams entered the seventh tied before the Lady Saints managed to squeak past their opponents to grow their win streak out to eight.
Morgan Earns KJCCC Player of the Week Honors

After leading the Seward County Lady Saints softball team to a perfect 6-0 week in Jayhawk conference action, Alyssa Morgan was named the KJCCC Player of the Week for the first time in her SCCC career as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Lady Saints Complete Perfect Week with Sweep Over Mavs

Seward County grabbed win after win this past week with clean sweeps over Garden City and Barton in KJCCC action and continued their win streak on Saturday in Goodland where the Lady Saints scored 20+ runs in each game of the doubleheader to sweep the Mavericks of NW Kansas Tech with a run rule in each game.
