Saints Esports Weekly Recap

Liberal, KS – Midseason matchups.  

The Saints Smash Brothers team was back in action on Tuesday night led by Priscilla Davis who faced off against Hinds Community College in a best of 7 match up. The game showed a lot of back and forth during the rounds, but the HCC player ended up taking 4 in a row, resulting in Davis losing her matchup in a 0 – 4 sweep. Marcos Montoya went against Northwestern College where he was dialed in and delivered a beatdown against NWC where he won the set 4–0 over his opponent. Edward Rios had the game to watch on Tuesday night as he and his opponent from Spoon River College put on a show. The two players battled it out back and forth, trading games right until the 7th and final match. In the end Rios had the quicker reflexes, when he saw an opening and took it to knock the SRC player off the map and won his match with a final score of 4 – 3.  

Saints Overwatch matched up against Beaver Community College on Wednesday night. Despite some shining moments, the Saints couldn't get enough traction to overtake BCC as they lost their set 0 – 3.  

Madden faced off against multiple opponents that for the first time in two weeks resulted in the Saints not having to face each other. Dwayne Moran got paired up against North Central Missouri College where in the first two games they went back and forth until the NCMC player came out on top as Moran fell 1 – 2. Powdrill matched up against the NAC Pioneers where he dominated his set and won the matchup 3 – 0 to improve Powdrill's record to 4 – 1 on the season. Landon Davis was the last Saint to toss the virtual pigskin as he played against Eastern Georgia State College, dealing with the Bobcat player handily to win two in a row and secure the victory 2 – 0. 

Nicholas Benson and Dwayne Moran had a Call of Duty Gunfight against Central Community College on Thursday night where the Saints won the first round but fell to the CCC Crew who came on hard to clinch the set as the Saints fell 1 – 3.   

Mario Kart was back on the raceway Thursday night too, with Priscilla Davis winning her set against Glen Oaks Community College 4 – 1. Landon Davis blanked his racer from Eastern Georgia State College in with a quick 4 – 0 while Edward Rios had a tough time catching up to MGCCC that night and lost his set 0 – 4. 

The Valorant had another dominant performance Thursday night against Jefferson Community College as they won the first game handily, 7 – 1. In the second set, the JCC squad tried to rally and take a few rounds off the Saints, but they lost in the end 4 – 7 to give the Saints the match 2 - 0 

The Saints Rocket League team had a tough Good Friday set against Monroe Community College. The game was back and forth all night, with the Saints and MCC taking games away from each other to start the match. In the 5th and final set, the MCC team was able to come out on top and saw the Saints fall 2-3 to their opponent. 

Finger Lakes Community College challenged Seward's Rainbow 6 team in the late set Friday night. The Saints commanded the map on the first game, only giving up one round to FLCC. In the second set, Finger Lakes did their best to rally back but the Saints just weren't having it. The Green team kept their winning streak going and ended the night 2 – 0.
