Saints Esports Post-Season Final

Saints Esports Post-Season Final

Liberal, KS – The Madden '24 season, and with that the Saints Esports team season, comes to a close.

Dwayne Moran took on Dallas College Cedar Valley and last year's winner of the tournament on Wednesday night in round 3 of the NJCAAE playoffs.  Moran and the DCCV player traded games in the beginning, starting the series tied at 1 – 1. During the third game, the Dallas College player was able to pull ahead and leave Moran struggling to catch up.  In the 4th game of the set, Dallas College ran away with the ball, putting up 35 points before halftime.  Moran was unable to overcome the deficit and lost the series 1 – 4, ending the Fall season with a 6th place finish.

Akele Powdrill faced off against Harrisburg Area Community College for his matchup Wednesday night.  Similarly to his teammate, Powdrill and his opponent traded early games and had the series tied at 1 – 1 going into the third set. The score was close in the third game until the third quarter, when an unfortunate dropped passed derailed Powdrill's touchdown drive and gave HACC a chance to take the lead. In the 4th game, Powdrill was unable to gain any momentum as the Harrisburg player read his offense like a book.  In the end, Powdrill came away with a 1 – 4 loss on the evening, finishing 5th in the league.

The Saints Esports Spring season starts next semester.  Regular season begins on February 18th and will last until April 13th. The playoffs for Spring competitions will be hosted the final two weeks of April.
