Saints student-athletes earn NJCAA All- American Awards
LIBERAL, Kan.- The NJCAA announced the All-Academic teams and Seward County Community College has 38 student-athletes honored with their success in the classroom. With an abrupt change in the spring semester, the Saints adapted and continued their success.
To be named on the first-team NJCAA All-Academic team they have to have a 4.00 GPA. There were 11 Saints that earned that honor throughout the 2019-2020 academic year.
The criterion for the second team is a GPA of 3.80-3.99. The Saints had 12 student-athletes named to the All-Academic second team.
The third academic team has earned a GPA of 3.60-3.79 and the Saints had 15 student-athletes honored in the third team.
The 2019-20 academic teams of the year were also announced and showed the team success in the classroom compared to other NJCAA programs. Lady Saints Tennis finished 4th among other women tennis programs with a 3.71 GPA. Men's Basketball finished 6th with a 3.31 team GPA and the Saints Men's Tennis team finished 9th with a 3.49 GPA.
