Three more Lady Saints sign to their four-year universities

LIBERAL, Kan. – The Seward County Lady Saints, and Head Coach Aubrey Wilson saw three more student-athletes sign on to their four-year universities. This signing day featured three powerful hitters in Sarah Cruz, Aubreigh Haxton, and Kavlyn Giacomelli.

Sarah Cruz, now officially a Mountaineer has signed to continue her academic and athletic career at Western Colorado University. Cruz was a power hitter for the Saints and was second on the team in kills with 272 and third on the team in total attacks with 682. Cruz had a season high 17 kills at Cloud County Community College back on October 19th, 2022.

Aubreigh Haxton, a right-side who transferred in over the summer played a big role in this year's Lady Saints' successes. Haxton finished with 202 kills on 608 total attacks, both ranking fourth on the team. Haxton had a career-high 20 kills against Otero Junior College on September 14th, 2022. Aubreigh will continue her career with a few Lady Saints by her side as she has signed with Western New Mexico University where Logan Dodge and Jessica Sales have already signed.

Kavlyn Giacomelli will head to the East Coast as she has signed to continue her academic and volleyball career at Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Giacomelli spent one season in Liberal and during her time racked up 164 kills on 490 total attacks with 26 aces and 116 digs. Giacomelli played in 35 of the seasons 39 matches and notched a career high 22 kills against Arizona Western on September 10th, 2022.

All three of these Lady Saints were part of the special season the Lady Saints Volleyball program had in winning a share of the KJCCC Championship, a Region VI Championship win and an 11th Place finish at the national tournament. We wish these ladies success throughout the rest of their athletic and academic careers.
