The Lady Saints sweep the Cougars in the Greenhouse

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College defeats Barton Community College in straight sets to improve to 11-2 on the year and to remain perfect at 3-0 in the KJCCC. The Lady Saints won with the set scores of 25-13, 27-25, and 25-21 in the Greenhouse. They will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, to take on three top 20 teams in the NJCAA. 

In the first set, the Lady Saints came out strong in the first set with an 18-8 lead over the Cougars and never looked back. Seward County continued their strong offense with a final first-set victory 25-13 over Barton. 

Seward County continued their strong offense with a 17-11 lead over Barton in the second set. The Cougars battled back to tie it at 20 all and continued to trade off points until 25-25. The Lady Saints closed out the second set with a 27-25 victory to lead 2-0 sets. 

In the third set, the Lady Saints looked to close the match, but Barton hung with the Lady Saints with an 11-10 lead. For the second straight set, the Lady Saints pulled away late in the set with a 25-21 third set victory. 

With the sweep, the Lady Saints remain perfect 3-0 in conference play. Seward County will be challenged in Las Vegas this weekend with three top 20 teams starting Thursday against Polk State College at 7 PM CT.
