Cambraia and Sales sign to 4 year Universities

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College's volleyball program has two student-athletes sign on to their four-year Universities. Ana Cambraia has signed with Delaware State University, an NCAA Division 1 program, and Jessica Sales has signed on with Western New Mexico University, an NCAA Division 2 program.

Cambraia and Sales are two-year sophomores with the program and were a part of last year's 2022 Region VI and Plains District Championship and a National Tournament appearance as they finished 11th. Over the previous two years, these two helped the Lady Saints to a 54-18 overall record and a 26-6 record in the KJCCC. Seward County finished as Co-KJCCC regular season champions in the 2022 season.

Cambraia has participated in 60 matches over the past two years and was the middle blocker for the Lady Saints. Last season Cambraia led the Lady Saints with 120 blocks, 21 solo blocks, and 99 block assists. In the fall, she also had a total of 199 kills with 1.59 kills per set ratio. A Belo Horizonte, Brazil native, has majored in Business administration at Seward County. Cambraia had her best game of the year at Colby with nine blocks at the net.

Sales have competed in 67 matches for the Lady Saints over the last two years and have been in rotation as an outside hitter. In her sophomore campaign, she had 227 kills, with 1.64 kills per set, and tied for the most aces with 60. Sales had her best service game against Iowa Western on September 2nd with five aces in the three-set match. During the 2022 season, Sales had 10 kills twice, once against Garden City and the other against Dodge City in the Greenhouse.

We wish them luck on their next adventures, and we are excited to see where their journey takes them.
