No. 11 Seward County bounces back with a sweep over Otero

La Junta, COL. - Seward County Community College sweeps Otero Junior College with the final set scores 25-6, 25-22, and 25-16. The Lady Saints improve to 17-5 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday, October 16th at Garden City Community College. 

To start the match Seward County had an early 10-2 lead and showed dominance at the net. Seward County continued to take the first set with an 11-1 run to take a 21-3 lead over the Rattlers. Seward County won the first set 25-6 and took control of the match. 

The second set started with the Lady Saints taking another 10-2 lead. The Rattlers quickly responded with a 9-2 run that forced head coach Geno Frugoli to take a timeout with a second set score of 12-11 in Seward County's favor. The Lady Saints separated themselves with a 6-2 run to lead 18-13. Otero continued to fight and stormed back in the match but Seward County won the second set 25-22.

To start the third set Seward County had a 14-9 lead over Otero and looked to close out the match. The Lady Saints were comfortable from the pins and created points from the middle that caught the Rattlers off guard. Seward County won the third set 25-16 to win the match on the road at Otero.

Seward County will be back in action on Saturday, October 16th for a conference showdown against the Broncbusters at 2 PM.
