Four Lady Saints Named to KJCCC All-Academic Team

Not only were four Seward County Lady Saint Volleyball players getting it done on the court this fall, but they were also getting it done in the classroom as well.  Wednesday the Jayhawk Conference released its fall 2013 All-Academic Teams which included Seward freshmen Kari Anderson, Kristen Anderson, Kelci Bedingfield, and Nacole Miller

All four student-athletes achieved a 3.5 GPA or better in their first collegiate semester, making them eligible for nomination to the All-Academic Team.  Kari Anderson, from Colorado Springs, Colorado,  was Seward's starting libero this season, leading the team with 519 total digs which ranked 7th in a single season in school history.  Kristen Anderson, from Holiday, Texas, was the Lady Saints starting right side hitter this season as well as filling in at setter for  four matches mid-season.  Bedingfield, also from Holiday, Texas, was Seward's top defensive specialist option in her rookie season.  She finished second on the team with 476 digs which ranked 10th most in a single season in school history.  Miller, from Canon City, Colorado, was the Lady Saints only setter in 2013.  She racked up 1,069 assists for the Lady Saints which already puts her in the top 10 in school history in that category.

The quartet are all expected to return to Seward for their sophomore seasons where they will make up the core of one of the early favorites for the 2014 Jayhawk West crown.
