Corrales Swings Way to Jayhawk West Player of the Week Award

Putting on a show in four Seward County games this week, sophomore shortstop Brittany Corrales has been named the Jayhawk West Player of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday. 

 

Corrales had a huge week for Seward, hitting an even .500 with five extra base hits and 11 RBI's.  Wednesday against Western Oklahoma State, Corrales drove in 4 in the double header, also scoring 3 runs in a Lady Saints sweep.  Saturday against Northeastern, she was on fire, going 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, a home run, and 7 RBI's in the opener followed by a 2 for 4 effort in game two of the twinbill. 

 

On the season Corrales leads the Lady Saints in batting average (.486), home runs (2), and RBI's (15). 

 

Corrales and the Lady Saints will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Odessa, Texas to take part in the Odessa College Tournament Friday and Saturday.
