Saints-Fort Hays Tech NW Preview

LIBERAL, Kan. – The Seward County men's basketball team looks to end the first part of its schedule on a winning note when it hosts Fort Hays Tech – Northwest at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Greenhouse.

The Saints played hard, but fell to the No. 18 Barton Community College Cougars, 80-70, on Wednesday at home. Seward is 1-5 in the Jayhawk Conference and 2-9 overall.

Dekwon Brown, Muhammed Jobe and Benni Kazadi are Seward's top scorers. The Saints are averaging 74. 9 points and 34.5 rebounds.

SCCC could see big man Lovasoa Andriatsarafara back on the court Saturday. He has missed the last few games with various injuries.

After opening its season with a win at Lamar, the Fort Hays Tech Northwest Tigers have lost nine straight. The Tigers fell at Pratt, 90-83, on Wednesday.

Fort Hays Tech, formerly the Northwest Kansas Technical College Mavericks, are winless in conference play at 0-7 and 1-9 overall.

Chase Harris is Fort Hays Tech's top scorer with 21.4 points along with John Toolin (12.4), Kaklik Sharpe (11.8) and Idris Williams (10.0). The Tigers are scoring 78.7 points, but allowing 89.3 points.

Fort Hays University entered into an affiliation agreement with Northwest Kansas Technical College and North Central Kansas Technical College last year.
