The Saints fall to No. 18 Garden City 81-65

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College fall to No. 18 Garden City Community College 81-65 in the Greenhouse on Saturday, February 5th. The Saints are now 9-16 on the season and 6-13 in conference play. Seward County cut the Garden City lead down to four points, 48-44 with 12 minutes left in the contest but the Broncbusters went on a 15-4 run to separate themselves for the final time at 63-48. The Saints will be on the road at Cowley College this Wednesday at 7:30 PM. 

At the first media timeout with 15:16 left in the first quarter, the Saints led the Broncbusters 9-6. Garden City reclaimed the lead with a 14-12 advantage but Seward County responded with an And-1 by Branton "Bee" McCrary to take a 15-14 lead with under 12 minutes left in the half. The lead switched for the final time in the game at the 6:45 mark as Garden City banked in a floater to lead 18-17 over Seward County.

The Saints cut the lead down to two points 29-27 after a Kevon Cooper put-back layup but the Broncbusters closed out the half on a 7-2 run to lead 36-29 at halftime.

 Garden City jumped up to a nine-point lead 45-36 over Seward County but the Saints responded with an 8-1 run to trail 46-44 with 12 minutes left. The Saints were unable to get back in front as the Broncbusters went on a 17-4 run to take a 63-48 advantage. With four minutes left in the contest, the Saints faced an 18 point deficit of 70-52. The Saints were unable to make a last-second push as they fall to the Broncbusters 81-65. 

The Saints were led by Branton "Bee" McCrary with 21 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Wilson Dubinsky had 17 points, and Jaylin Henderson had 12 points for Seward County.

Seward County will travel to take on the Cowley Tigers at 7:30 PM Wednesday, February 9th.
