Niem Stevenson Nets Another KJCCC Player of the Week Award

The KJCCC will soon be getting a bulk rate discount on their shipping of Basketball Player of the Week awards to Liberal, Kansas as Wednesday the league announced that for the for the sixth time this year, the Saints Niem Stevenson has been picked as the winner. 

 

Niem Stevenson continued to climb the Seward County all-time scoring list last week, putting up 64 points in two Saints games, pushing him into 4th place behind a trio of Saints Athletics Hall of Famers.  Stevenson's big week started on Wednesday against #11 Hutchinson when he went off for 35 points and 12 rebounds in a heartbreaking last second loss to the Blue Dragons.  Saturday he was at it again, shaking off a 'slow' start to score 21 second half points, leading the Saints to a come from behind victory against the Cougars.  He finished the week averaging 32 points and 9 rebounds per game while shooting 51% from the field.   

 

Stevenson and the Saints enter a critical final stretch of the conference season tonight when they go on the road to take on Garden City in their first of three games in six days.
