Seven Saints in Double Figures in Blowout of Kingdom Prep

Seven Saints in Double Figures in Blowout of Kingdom Prep

Coming off of a 30 point win on Friday, the Seward County Saints took no mercy on their opponent Saturday night either as the Saints put up a season high 111 points on Kingdom Prep in the Greenhouse, coming away with a 111-79 laugher to even their record at 6-6 on the season.

Seward was all over Kingdom Prep early on, jumping out to a 25-4 lead before the Kings knew what hit them.  Kingdom Prep battled back to 32-18 before the first half media timeout but it was all Saints at the break 61-41.  The game was never close in the second half as Seward continued to rotate in players with all 14 players on the Saints roster getting into the game.  Seward hit the century mark with six minutes left and went on to win 111-79.

Seven different players reached double figures for Seward in the win as they shot 55%, a season high, from the field.  Secean Johnson finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the guys in green while Brian Bridgeforth topped his career high for the second straight night with 18 points and 8 rebounds.  Kevin Smith had 13 off the Seward bench while Quentin Purtue and Malcolm Hill-Bey each had 11 and Raoul Mentor and Tyreke Sharp had 10 apiece.

The Saints improve to 6-6 on the season with the two wins and will try and carry the momentum into next weekend when they travel to Garden City to wrap up play in the first semester.  Seward will take on God's Academy Friday at 3:30 in the Perryman Center and will take on Raleigh's Finest Prep for the second time this season on Saturday at 3:30.
