Seward County Director of Athletics Mike Davidson has announced that Seward County will welcome three new members to the Hall of Fame this year after Jamal Brown, Danny Vais and Joy Okpa each received enough votes to be inducted. Celebrating the 8th induction ceremony, this year’s class of 2019 brings the current roster of Hall of Fame inductees to 21 members and one team.

Friday marked a memorable night for many involved with Seward County athletics, but two cemented their athletic legacy by being introduced as the two newest members of the Seward County Hall of Fame.  Tracy Wynn and Kelby Tomlinson took their place as the class of 2018 in front of friends and family that have helped them along the way. The duo joins 16 other individuals and the 2002 National Championship Team in the Saints Hall of Fame.

Seward County Director of Athletics Roy Allen has announced that Seward County will welcome Kelby Tomlinson and Tracy Wynn to its Athletics Hall of Fame. Celebrating the 7th induction ceremony, this year’s class of 2018 brings the current roster of Hall of Fame inductees to 18 members and one team. Volleyball player Joy Okpa also received enough votes to be inducted, but will wait to join the 2019 class so she can attend the ceremony.

Three familiar and deserving faces were inducted into the Saints Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet in the Greenhouse as Softball great Courtney Auger as well as longtime supporters Bill & Virginia Colvin took their place as the class of 2017 in front of a crowd of 300.

Two of the greatest Saints to ever don a Seward County jersey were enshrined into the Saints Athletics Hall of Fame Friday night at the annual Athletics/Hall of Fame Banquet in the Greenhouse. Carlo Walton and Kevin Houston, both Men’s Basketball All-American’s returned to Liberal for the weekend, sharing stories with the crowd of their glory days with the Saints in the mid-90’s.

Friday night in the Greenhosue, three individuals who have each made incredible impacts on Seward County Athletics were inducted into the Saints Athletics Hall of Fame. Longtime supporters Charles Brownlee and Brent Gould were enshrined next to Saints basketball star Tony Slaughter as the Class of 2013. After an unveiling of their Hall of Fame plaques Friday afternoon, the group was officially inducted at the Hall of Fame Banquet later Friday night.

On the heels of a successful inaugural Hall of Fame Class induction in the Spring of 2012, the Saints Hall of Fame voting committee has made its decision on the second Hall of Fame Class, the Class of 2013. Three members will be enshrined at the Athletics Banquet on April 19th in the Greenhouse. Long time boosters Brent Gould and Charles Brownlee will join Saints basketball legend Tony Slaughter to represent the Hall of Fame’s second class.

Following months of much anticipated waiting, the Saints Athletics Hall of Fame has inducted its inaugural class. Friday night at the Athletics/Hall of Fame Banquet, four individuals and one team became the first to be enshrined in the hall. Long time coaches Galen McSpadden and Jim Littell as well as former NJCAA Players of the Year Cory Patton and Kim Ortega joined the 2001-2002 Women’s Basketball team as the Class of 2012. Amidst the uncountable memories shared during the evening and the stories and laughs of times past, the one theme that seemed to come out the most was that the group of 21 were home once again as they were honored in the Greenhouse in front of a capacity crowd.

After coming into existence last year, the Saints Hall of Fame will finally have its first members. Kim Ortega (Women’s Basketball), Galen McSpadden (Baseball), Jim Littell (Women’s Basketball), Cory Patton (Baseball), and the 2001-2002 Women’s Basketball team are officially set to become the Class of 2012 in April after being announced as the inaugural selections during a special ceremony between the Lady Saints and Saints Basketball games Saturday night in the Greenhouse.
