Seward County finishes 3rd at Nationals

PLANO, Tex. - Seward County Community College finished third at the NJCAA Men's Tennis National Tournament. The Saints entered the final day of competition with four championship matches and came up short in all four matches. Cowley College won three matches on the day to jump over Seward County to claim the National Runner-Up trophy and Tyler Junior College clinched the National Championship for the third straight year.

PLANO, Tex. - Seward County Community College advances to four championship matches and remains in second place after the fourth day of matches at the NJCAA Men's Tennis National tournament. The Saints will compete in the number four, five, and six singles draw championship and the number two doubles draw championship match.

PLANO, Tex. - Seward County Community College wins nine of their 12 matches on day three of the National tournament to earn 33 points that place them second in the standings. The Saints will compete in the semifinals of three singles draws and three doubles draws. The tournament returned to Collin College for day three action and with all 16 courts available they were able to get the double draws caught up with the second round and quarterfinal matches all on day three.
Seward County sweeps day two at Nationals

PLANO, Tex. - Seward County Community College sweeps day two of the 2021 National Tournament after receiving a bye on the first day. The Saints sit in first place after the second day of action. The Saints received a bye in all nine of the draws and came out on day two with six wins in the singles draws. The weather in Plano caused the tournament to move into the indoor facility on the campus of SMU. With only six courts available the tournament only could finish the scheduled singles draw matches for day two. The doubles draw will resume tomorrow weather permits.
Men's Tennis National Tournament Starts May 17th

PLANO, Tex. - Seward County Community College will compete at the 2021men's tennis National Tournament in Plano, Texas from May 17th to May 21st. The Saints enter the NAtional tournament ranked fourth in the nation.
The Saints sweep the Cougars 9-0

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College hosted Barton Community College and swept the Cougars 9-0 on Saturday, April 17th. At the time of the match, the Saints were No. 3 in the nation, and showed their dominance over the No. 7 Cougars.
Seward County drops to No. 4 and receives individual national rankings

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College is recognized nationally in the latest Oracle/ITA National Rankings. The Saints men's tennis team drops down one spot to No. 4 in the nation and they ended the 2021 regular season with a 12-3 record and will prepare for the NJCAA National Tournament in Plano, Texas that starts on May 17th.
Weekend Review: The Saints compete at the JUCO showcase and end the weekend with a loss to Southwestern Oklahoma

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College competed on Friday and Saturday at the JUCO Showcase in Plano, Texas followed by a match on Sunday at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Saints had a great showing in the JUCO Showcase and displayed their overall talent levels with other Junior college programs. In the Sunday Match, the Saints were unable to defeat the Savage Storm and lost a very close match 4-3.
Saints defeat Our Lady of the Lake University 8-1

Midlothian, TX - Seward County Community College men's tennis team defeats Our Lady of the Lake University in dominant fashion 8-1. The Saints are now 6-2 overall and recently ranked No. 3 in the first week of the Oracle/ITA NJCAA national rankings.
No. 3 Seward County dominates No. 9 Jacksonville

Midlothian, Tex. - Seward County Community College defeats Jacksonville College in dominating fashion 8-1 in Midlothian, Texas. No. 3 Saints defeat the No. 9 Jaguars with a singles sweep but drops one match in doubles. The Saints defeated the Jaguars earlier this season in Plano, Texas 7-0 with a similar lineup that Seward County had today.
Coach Chase Ashley steps down as Head Coach

LIBERAL, Kan.- Seward County Community College Men's and Women's Tennis Coach Chase Ashley steps down as the head coach after five years in the program. Coach Ashley was first hired during the summer of 2015 and was named the Head Coach in the winter of 2018.
