Bio

Arlene Ruiz, a Liberal, Kansas Native, enters her second year with the Lady Saints in 2024

In her first year as Assistant Coach for the Lady Saints women’s soccer program, Ruiz helped Seward County to plenty of firsts for the program as they took the field for the first time in August of 2023 for their inaugural season. On September 20th, Ruiz and the Lady Saints made history for Seward County as the Lady Saints grabbed their first win in program history against the Coffeyville Red Ravens in a 1-0 shutout victory. Throughout the season as a whole, Ruiz helped coach the Lady Saints towards multiple honors including an NJCAA Goalkeeper of the Week honoree and two All-KJCCC selections for the 2023 season.

In 2021, Ruiz began working on staff at Liberal High School as an assistant coach for the Lady Redskin’s soccer program and she just completed her third season as the assistant (2021-2023).

Coach Ruiz is a 2017 graduate of Liberal High School where she starred on the Lady Redskin’s soccer team. Ruiz continued her academic and soccer career by attending Kansas City Kansas Community College obtaining her Associates degree in 2020 while seeing action on the field as a defender.

Following her time in Kansas City she attended Park University located in Parkville, Missouri where she played for the Lady Pirates for two seasons. Arlene is in line to graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with disciplines in Psychology and Fitness and Wellness.
