Hernandez Signs With Midway

The busy summer of signings continues for the Seward County athletic department as another student-athelte signed to continue their career at a four-year school. Saints tennis player Sebastian Hernandez signed with NAIA Midway University on Saturday.

Two Saints tennis players will be continuing their careers as Duro Opacic signed with Division I Utah State and Diego Freire signed with NAIA Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday.
34 Student-Athletes Receive NJCAA Academic Student Athlete Awards

For the sixth consecutive year, the Seward County athletic department has seen an increase in the number of student-athletes receiving the NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award, as 34 Saints and Lady Saints qualified for the 2017-18 school year, topping last years record of 28.
Seward County Tennis Lands Four on ITA All-American Teams

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has recognized four Seward County tennis players for their outstanding play this season, naming Nicolas Rousset, Duro Opacic, Hugo Lobo and Patricia Panta to their JUCO Alll-American Team for the 2018 season.
Spring Semester Ends with Academic Awards

For a second straight semester, the Seward County student-athletes achieved a cumulative GPA of over 3.20 as 78 Saints and Lady Saints were named to the Spring Athletic Director Honor Roll.
Four Saints Earn All-American Status At National Tournament

The Saints tennis season ended with a bang in Plano, with four Saints being named 2nd Team All-Americans. Duro Opacic, Hugo Lobo and the team of Benji Finet and Carlo Izurieta each finished as the National Runner-Up in their flight, earning them All-American status.
Trio of Saints To Play For National Championship

For the second time in program history, the Seward Saints men’s tennis program has players advancing to the championship match at the NJCAA National Tournament. Duro Opacic, Hubo Lobo, and the doubles team of Benji Finet and Carlo Izurieta will all be playing for a National Championship in the final day of the NJCAA National Tournament.
Saints Make Semifinal Run In Day Three of Nationals

The Saints tennis team kept rolling on day of the NJCAA National Tournament, advancing to the semifinals in eight of the nine flights. The one loss set them back one point in the leaderboard, now sitting in third place as a team.

After all players received an opening round bye, the Seward County Men’s Tennis team went a perfect 9-0 in day two at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in Plano, Texas.

The latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings have been released and the Region VI Champions Seward County Saints and Lady Saints are still at the top of the listings.

The Seward County men’s tennis program continues to trample through Region VI, winning the Region VI Championship for a fourth consecutive year. Five of the six singles champions were Saints, while two of the three doubles champions were Seward teams. The Saints finished with 25 points followed by Cowley (20 pts), Barton (10.5) and Hesston (3).

First the Saints took on #2 ASA Miami and lost 3-6 and then in the second match the men had a lot more fight in their game, and it show by winning against #10 Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) 7-2.
