Flores’ Game Winner Earns Him KJCCC Player of the Week Honors
Liberal, Kansas – After scoring the game winning goal in a 1-0 win for Seward County over Garden City, the Jayhawk Conference announced on October 15th that Felipe Flores earned this weeks KJCCC Player of the Week honors with a made goal off a penalty kick to secure a win for the Saints.
Flores earned a shot at a penalty kick attempt at the 85:00-minute mark for the Saints in what had been a stalemate through most of the game before he stepped up and cashed in for Seward County's first goal that ended as the game winner in a 1-0 win over the Broncbusters. Flores' game winning goal combined with Miguel Kwiatkowski's 8 saves resulted in not only a big conference win for the Saints but also a clean sweep of this week's KJCCC awards with Kwiatkowski earning KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
Seward County will be back on the road this Wednesday for their final road game of the 2024 regular season as they head to Dodge City to take on the Conquistadors in a 6:00 PM kickoff.
