The Saints will face the Red Ravens in the first round of the Region VI Tournament
LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College will travel to Coffeyville Community College for the first round of the Region VI Tournament. Tip-off is set for 4 PM CT in Coffeyville, Kansas, and will take place after the Coffeeville vs Colby women's basketball first-round game that is set for 2 PM. The Saints enter the tournament as the No. 12 seed with a conference record of 8-16 and a season record of 11-19. The Red Ravens enter the tournament as the fifth seed with a 14-9 conference record, and a 17-12 season record.
The Region VI tournament is set up with the top four seeds receiving byes into the second round and the 13th seed eliminated from post-season play. The top four teams will host the winners from the first round on March 1st, 2022 and the final four will go to Salina, Kansas at the Tony's Pizza Event Center. The Saints' second-round game will be at Garden City Community College as the Broncbusters enter the tournaments as the fourth seed if they prevail at Coffeyville.
Seward County and Coffeyville last competed on sophomore night February 19th in the Greenhouse. The Red Ravens took a 36-25 lead into halftime but the Saints battled back to get within six points late in the second half but Coffeyville went on to win 81-64. the first meeting between these two occurred on January 31st as the Saints faced a ten-point deficit at halftime 34-24 and the Red Ravens held on to win 77-58. The Saints have struggled on the road with a 3-12 road record and will look to right the ship on the road at Coffeyville on Saturday.
The Saints will look to knock out the reigning National Champions on their floor this Saturday, February 26th at 4 PM.
