Marcus Pollard

Marcus Pollard played basketball at Seward County Community College from 1990-1992 for former head coach, Dale Reed. Pollard led the Saints to 28 victories in two seasons, where he held a career scoring average of 12.3 points per game. Pollard scored 724 career points and as a sophomore averaged 14.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for the Saints. Pollard then transferred to Bradley University where he played in 58 games (49 starts) scored 424 points (7.3 ppg.) and grabbed 289 rebounds (5.0 rpg.) and would finish his collegiate basketball career.

Pollard then began his National Football League career in 1995, when he signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He became an NFL veteran with the Colts playing from 1995-2004. Over that time span the Colts became one of the elite American Football Conference (AFC) teams in the NFL. Pollard is currently with the Detroit Lions, who signed him in the off-season after the 2004 regular season. In his pro football career, Pollard has played in 162 games in 11 NFL seasons and has started a total of 118 games. Pollard's career-high's in a single game are: 7 receptions vs. Tennessee Titans (11/03/02), 126 receiving yards vs. New Orleans Saints (01/18/01), 2 touchdowns (twice) the last time vs. Minnesota Vikings (11/08/04) and his longest reception was 86 yards (twice) the last time vs. Carolina Panthers (10/16/05).

In his first season with Detroit in 2005, Pollard led the Lions with 46 receptions and was second on the team with 516 receiving yards. In Pollard's career with the Colts, he ranks second all-time among Colts tight ends in receptions (263), third in touchdowns (35), and is tied for fifth in career 100+ yards games (8). In his career, Pollard has recorded 38 touchdown receptions.

Pollard is originally from Lanett , Alabama , where he attended and graduated from Valley High School in the spring of 1990.
