Saints Esports Weekly Recap (March 24)

Results from Monday 03-24-25

Marvel Rivals

The Saints Green team (Landon Davis, Nicolas Benson, Akele Powdrill, Benjamin Washburn, Josef Peppa, and Marcos Montoya) took on Herkimer College last night, pulling off their first win in the multiverse. The Saints won the first match, with HCC coming back to win the second. After that, it was all Saints as they closed the night 3 - 1. Their record moves to 1 - 3.

The Saints Black team (Eli Hackett, Scarlett Phan, Ernest Paloma, Edward Rios, Angel Roberts, and Julienne Salazar) had a tough time against University of South Caroline Sumter, dropping three straight rounds to the Fire Ants. They lost on the night 0 - 3. Their record stands at 0 - 3.

 

Results from Tuesday 03-25-25

Smash Brothers

Alexis Saustegui squared off against Northwestern College in a best of 7 bout. Saustegui won handily in four rounds beating his opponent 4 - 0. His record improves to 2 - 2.


Fortnite

Luis Ortiz went solo against Richard Bland College with his partner out due to sickness. Ortiz won the first set, putting up some large numbers. Unfortunately, the handicap cost him in the next two rounds. Ortiz lost on the night 1 - 2. The team record drops to 2 - 2.

Henry Perez and Osiel Ventura benefitted from a forfeit against Kishwaukee Community College. They remain undefeated with a 4 - 0 record.

 

Results from Wednesday 03-26-25

 

Madden NFL:

The Saints' Akele Powdrill faced off against Eastern Georgia State College in a tough matchup with the Bobcats. Powdrill won the first set, but the EGSC player came back to win the next two in a row. Powdrill fell on the night 1 - 2. His record is 3 - 1.

Landon Davis went against another player from Eastern Georgia State College in his sets, but had a much easier time. Davis put up a dominating performance in two straight games, winning 2 - 0 on the night. His record moves to 2 - 2.

Jarrett Hogg had a tough time against Jacksonville College in his games. The first set was close, with Hogg losing by one point. In the second game, the difference was one touchdown. Hogg fell 0 - 2. His record is currently 2 - 2.

Ricky Olguin received a bye week.

 

Results from Thursday 03-27-25

Mario Kart:

Priscilla Davis raced against Rose State College in a best of 7 match up, but only needed 4 races to put her opponent down. She won 4 - 0. Her record is 2 - 2.

Landon Davis had a tough time against Luzerne County Community College. The LCCC got up quickly, winning 4 in a row. Davis lost 0 - 4. His record is 3 - 1.

Edward Rios also had a hard fight against another player from Rose State College. He fell 1 - 4. His record is 2 - 2

Bret Lyon's race went down to the wire against Highland Community College. Both races traded sets back and forth, but Lyon came up with the W in the end, winning 4 - 3. Her record is 2 - 2 on the season.

Alexis Saustegui also had a long set versus Southwest Wisconsin Tech. After going the full distance, Saustegui won 4 - 3. His record stands at 3 - 1.

 

 Valorant:

The Saints Valorant Squad (Julienne Salazar, Daniel Nguyen, Eli Hacket, Angel Alba, and Marcos Montoya) went against Pensacola State College. The first set was close, with the PSC crew pulling out the win at the end. The second set, the Saints had a tough time launching their attack and fell on the night, losing 0 - 2. Their current record is 1 - 2.

 

Friday Night 03-28-25-

Rainbow 6:

The Saints R6 Green team (Jarret Hogg, Edward Rios, Ernest Paloma, Nicolas Benson and Landon Davis) took on Northeastern Junior College. The Saints were hot on the night, pulling the first win with little back and forth.  After that, it was all Green team. The Saints won 2 – 0. Their record is 2 – 2 on the season.
