Bio

Freshman (2014): Urquizo had a solid freshman year for the Saints in 2014, hitting .376 which was fourth best on the team while ripping 17 extra base hits and driving in 31 runs in 44 games.  In a jam packed outfield, Urquizo was the odd man out early on in the year, but as the season went along, Coach Galen McSpadden was forced to find room in the lineup for him.  He closed the year on a nine game hit streak, including five games in the postseason, in which he was 13 for 29 (.448).  He had back to back 4 hit games midseason against Hutchinson and Clarendon and had a career high 4 RBI's in a game a week prior against Frank Phillips.  he launched his first career home run and drove in three runs in a late February win over New Mexico.  

High School: Urquizo made the trip to Liberal to play for the Saints last season after playing for Coach Grant Martin and Vernon High School for four seasons.  Urquizo had a big senior year, hitting .590 with 13 RBI's and 15 stolen bases en route to being named the District 5 MVP as well as being tabbed 3rd Team All-State.  It was the second time that Urquizo earned MVP honors as he was also named the top player in District 5 during his junior campaign when he hit .519 for Vernon.  Also an accomplished athlete on the football field and in track, Urquizo was the District 5 MVP in football as a senior and was a two time state qualifier in track.  He has two brothers, Tristan (16), and Jaxon (4).
