Freshman (2014): Garland was a busy man in 2014, ranking second on the team with 18 appearances, 17 of those coming out of the Seward bullpen.  The sidewinder posted an unblemished 4-0 record with a save in 30 innings of work, recording a 5.40 ERA with 22 strikeouts.  He picked up his first collegiate win in mid-February when he threw a career high 6 innings against Rose State, striking out a career best 8 Raider hitters without allowing an earned run in a 9-6 Saints victory.  He opened up his Seward County career with five straight appearances without giving up an earned run, a span of 9 1/3 innings.  He earned his first Jayhawk West win against Barton in game three of the Saints series with the Cougars and notched a pair of midweek victories later in the season.  Garland also had a big year in the classroom where he was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll during both semesters.  

High School: Garland became another successful Texas Panhandle pitcher to play for the Saints last season after coming to Liberal from Canyon High School where he played for Coach John Doan for two seasons.  Garland pitched in 20 games as a senior in 2013, recording 62 strikeouts in 53 innings and posting a 1.57 ERA.  He was named All-District as well as Academic All-State.  Despite his size, Garland was also a star on the football field where he was one of Canyon's top recievers in 2012 while lettering twice.  His father Tom was also a college athlete, playing football at West Texas A&M.  He has three brothers, Isaac (17), Jake (16), and Eli (13).
