Waiting Game Over, Lady Saints Headed to NJCAA National Tournament

After 48 grueling hours of waiting, the #9 Seward County Lady Saints finally got the call they had been waiting for Sunday afternoon as Seward will be headed back to the NJCAA National Tournament after being selected as one of four national at-large teams for the Big Dance which begins March 16th in Salina, Kansas.

Seward put together quite a resume during the 2014-2015 campaign, picking up wins over four tournament teams including New Mexico, Southern Idaho, Coffeyville, and Murray State.  The Lady Saints also had wins this season over #12 State Fair, Butler, who won two games in last year's tournament, and Midland, who knocked off defending National Champions Trinity Valley this season.  The caliber of the Lady Saints schedule this season could even be seen in their five losses as four of them came to teams who will also be in Salina, #1 Hutchinson (twice), #8 Salt Lake, and Coffeyville, with the other loss coming to a Butler club that won 24 games this season.

The Lady Saints were ranked in the top 10 of all 12 NJCAA regular season polls this season, cresting at #6 and sitting at #9 going into the National Tournament.

Seward will find out where they sit in the 24 team tournament on Monday and will also learn of their round one opponent for the National Championship event.

It is the Lady Saints first trip back to Salina since the 2006-2007 season when they finished 3rd.
