Los Santos de Seward Aplastar Northwest Tech 112-42

On Hispanic Heritage Night in the Greenhouse Saturday night it didn't matter which language you spoke or understood to realize how hot the Seward County 'Los Santos' were after a 112-42 beating of visiting Northwest Kansas Tech to stay unbeaten on the season at a perfect 11-0.

Donning their brand new 'Los Santos de Seward' jerseys for the special occasion, the Lady Saints came out of the gates on fire from the start, quickly opening up a 8-3 and then 18-8 lead on the Lady Mavericks to begin the contest.  Seward's pressure effected Northwest Tech all night and a number of Lady Mav turnovers turned into easy scoring chances for the Lady Saints and in no time the gals in green had blown the game wide open to 40-16 by the midway point of the first half.  The Lady Saints didn't let up though and continued to have their way on both sides of the floor against Northwest Tech.  Seward finished the first half with a season best 61 points and led the Lady Mavericks by a count of 61-29.  Seward forced 21 Northwest Tech first half turnovers while being stingy with the ball themselves, giving it up just 6 times.

After Northwest Tech scored the first basket of the second half, the Lady Saints regrouped to go on a 14-0 run and just like that, Seward's lead had ballooned to 46 points.  The Lady Saints took a 50 point lead on a steal and score from Brianna Scott and didn't stop there, pushing their advantage to 60 moments later on a deep three from Daniela Galindo.  Seward's bench didn't give in either, continuing to keep the Lady Saints going in the right direction to the final buzzer when mercifully Seward ended things with a 112-42 win over the Lady Mavs.

Seward shot 50% or better in both halves, finishing the game at 51% overall from the field.  The Lady Saints dominated the glass as well, outrebounding Northwest Tech by 20 in the game, including 20 offensive boards.  Seward forced 39 Lady Mav turnovers, picking off 27 steals in the process.  Six Lady Saints reached double figures in the win and all 11 dressed players scored.  Tamara Seda led the way for Seward with 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting while Galindo stayed hot with 18 points including 5 three pointers.  Kyndal Davis had a big game as well, flirting with a quadruple-double, scoring 11 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and also netting 7 steals and 6 assists.

#8 Seward County remains unbeaten on the season, improving to 11-0 on the year with their largest victory in three seasons.  Northwest Tech drops to 4-9 with the defeat.

The Lady Saints will now have some time to enjoy their solid start as they will not take the court again until December 28th and 29th in Las Vegas when they battle Eastern Utah and Southern Idaho in their annual holiday trip.
