Seward County Lady Saints sit at third in the KJCCC to start the season

LIBERAL, Kan. – The Seward County Lady Saints are projected to finish third in conference behind Hutchinson and Butler as they look to reload after ending their 2022 campaign in West Plains, MO at the national tournament. The Lady Saints finished the 2022-23 campaign at 31-8 going 12-0 in "The Greenhouse."

The Lady Saints finished the year going 1-2 in the national tournament after winning the Region VI Championship at home back in November 2022. The Saints will look to reload under first year Head Coach Aubrey Wilson who is looking to replace 1st Team All-American and KJCCC MVP in Seyun Park along with a host of other very talented players. The Lady Saints had 11 sophomores on last years tournament team with 10 signing at the four-year level (2 NCAA Div. 1, 7 NCAA Div. 2, 1 NAIA).

The Lady Saints will only be returning one of their 4 KJCCC All-Conference selections with Rafaela DaSilva coming back to Liberal, KS for her sophomore season. DaSilva finished 5th in the nation with 1282 assists and tacked on 102 kills and 33 service aces. Dasilva looks to grow into a leader with the other Lady Saints' returner Clara Duarte. Duarte amassed 112 kills on only 275 total attacks while registering 35 total blocks.

The Lady Saints will open the season on August 18th, 2023 with a tournament at McCook Community College where they will play 4 matches in 2 days before hosting their first home match against non-conference Otero at 6:30 PM on August 22nd.
