Machado and Tapigliani named to All-Tournament Team

ODESSA, Texas – Following an undefeated weekend in Odessa, which featured all sweeps, two Lady Saints, Giovanna Tapigliani and Nathiellen Machado, have been named to the Wrangler Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team. Voted on by the coaches, each team received one player for the All-Tournament team and a lone libero was chosen.

Tapigliani was a force on offense, finishing the weekend with 42 kills over the four matches. Her final match against Texas Western saw her record a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. She also recorded seven blocks over the course of the weekend.

As she has been all season, Machado stood steady in her libero position, recording double-digit digs in every match. In the second match against Temple, she recorded a weekend high 17 digs. Over 53 service receptions, Machado only had one slip up, which occurred in the third match against Richland.

The Lady Saints will be back in action at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Sep. 13) against Dodge City in the Greenhouse.
