Belissa Guidotti Named Jayhawk Defensive Player of the Week

For the second time on the 2016 season, Seward County sophomore Belissa Guidotti has been named the Jayhawk West Defensive Player of the Week as announced in a league release Wednesday. 

Guidotti had her own little block party this week competing against some of the best teams the NJCAA has to offer.  The sophomore middle added 36 to her NJCAA leading 116 blocks on the season, averaging 1.57 rejections per set on the week.  Guidotti opened the week with 8 blocks in a big win for Seward over #19 Hutchinson and followed that with a 10 block performance against Colby two days later.  In the Tyler Invitational over the weekend she notched 8 more blocks against Navarro and then 5 in an upset win over #12 San Jacinto. 

Guidotti and the Lady Saints get back into Jayhawk West play tonight as they travel to Towanda where they will take on Butler at Circle High School at 6:30.
