GAMEDAY in the GREENHOUSE: Seward County vs. Pratt Volleyball

MATCH PREVIEW:

Two of the top teams in the Jayhawk West go head to head tonight on the Greenhouse floor as the Seward County Lady Saints host the Pratt Lady Beavers to wrap up a three match home stand.  The matchup between the Lady Saints and Lady Beavers has become much more contested of late, but Seward has come out on top of three of the last four meetings overall between the two and has won in sweeping fashion four straight times here in the Greenhouse against Pratt.

Seward has begun to find their stride, winning three of their last four matches including back to back Jayhawk West sweeps over Dodge City and Garden City to get back even at 6-6 on the year.  Much of the Lady Saints success has come thanks to their sophomores including Alex Wood who has 20 kills without a single error in Seward's past two matches and Megan Sharratt who has averaged just under three kills per set in the Lady Saints last three contests.  Also rising to the occasion has been freshman Viviane Viana who has posted a pair of double digit kill matches for the gals in green in the past week.

Pratt got off to a red hot start to conference play, sweeping Butler, Colby, and Barton to take the early lead in the Jayhawk West standings, but the Lady Beavers have gone on a mini slide over the past six days, losing five straight including a tough five setter Monday night to Cloud County for their first conference defeat.  Pratt's tough serve has been a key to its success this season as the Beavers lead the Jayhawk Conference with 121 aces on the year.
