Seward County vs. OPSU Volleyball Scrimmage Tonight at 6:30

The Seward County Lady Saints wrap up their preseason slate this evening here in the Greenhouse as they battle the NCAA Division II Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies. 

Seward and OPSU met Saturday in Goodwell with the Lady Saints using a furious late comeback to take the first set 25-22 before cruising to a 25-20 win in the second set to sweep the match 2-0. 

The Lady Saints finished the OPSU Scrimmage Tournament a perfect 3-0 with wins over the hosts as well as Trinidad State and Lamar.  Alex Wood led the Lady Saints with 28 kills on the day while Jade Piper dished out a team best 35 assists.  Megan Sharratt picked up 7 aces on the day and Maritza Mesa led the back line with 24 digs. 

It will be a new look Lady Saints squad this season as they return just three players from last years Jayhawk West 3rd place finishers.  Seward is also under new direction in 2015 as Thais Baziquetto-Allen takes over for long time Head Coach Bert Luallen.  Seward opens their 2015 regular season campaign on Friday in Roswell, New Mexico at the NMMI invite.
