Saints & Lady Saints Release 2014-2015 Schedules

Ready or not, the 2014-2015 school year is right around the corner and that means that it is time once again to start thinking about Seward County Athletics.  Six Seward teams released their schedules on Monday, which included the volleyball, men's & women's basketball, baseball, and men's & women's tennis teams.

The Lady Saints Volleyball team will open their 2014 season on the road in Lamar, Colorado on August 22nd and 23rd where they will take on Otero, Clarendon, Lamar, and Bethany's JV squad.  The Lady Saints begin conference play on August 27th on the road when they travel to Great Bend to take on Barton and will play three more road matches before their home opener on September 10th against Dodge City in the Greenhouse.  Their next stretch of matches may be their toughest of the year as they travel to the Northeastern Pizza Hut Classic in Sterling, Colorado followed by a road date with defending Jayhawk West Champions Hutchinson and then another long roadie to Scottsbluff, Nebraska to compete in the Wyo-Braska Shootout.  After playing 21 of their first 22 on the road, the Lady Saints will then hit their home stretch of their schedule, playing in the friendly confines of the Greenhouse in 10 straight matches, including the annual Oz-Fest Invitational on September 26th and 27th.  October is packed with home conference matches for the Lady Saints and that will wrap up on October 30th when Seward hosts Cloud County in their final regular season home date of the season on Sophomore Night in the Greenhouse.

The next teams to get things under way will be the Saints and Lady Saints Basketball teams which will tip off their 2014-2015 campaign on Halloween night in the Greenhouse.  The Lady Saints won't have any time to acclimate their new players to the rigors of college basketball as they open the year with Murray State and Hill in the Pepsi Classic in Liberal on October 31st and November 1st and travel on the road to Weatherford before returning home to take on South Plains and Midland on November 14th and 15th in the Billy's/Days Inn Classic.  Trips to Hutchinson and Garden City for classics the next two weekends will ensue for the Lady Saints before they wrap up their home non-conference schedule against Fort Carson and Northwest Kansas Tech on December 5th and 6th in the Pizza Hut Classic.  The Lady Saints Holiday trip this year will be to Las Vegas, where the competition is sure to be strong with a host of perennial powers in the tournament field.  Seward will open conference play on the road at Barton on January 3rd and play their first Jayhawk West game at home on January 5th against Colby.  The Lady Saints take on 2014 NJCAA runners-up Hutchinson on January 28th to complete the first round of conference action and will entertain another 2014 National Tournament participant in Butler on February 21st on Sophomore Night to complete their regular season home schedule.  Seward will wrap up their Jayhawk West schedule on February 28th when they travel to Hutchinson in a game with playoff implications sure to be on the line.
