Seward Rolls to 12-0

The Seward County Lady Saints rolled to two more easy wins Friday afternoon in Central Kansas, first putting it on Bethel in Newton 9-0 before blanking Bethany 9-0 in Lindsborgh with the Swedes contesting just four of the nine spots in the match.

In their first match of the day, the Lady Saints took on the Bethel Threshers.  Seward quickly picked up two points in the match, getting 8-0 and 8-1 wins at #2 and #3 doubles from Nthabi Mogopodi and Thalita Rodrigues and Alba Payeras and Yennifer Delgado to take a 2-0 lead.  The match at #1 doubles was the best of the dual with Mialiniaina Rakotondrazafy and Maminiaina Rakotondrazafy outlasting the Threshers top pair 8-5 to give Seward a 3-0 lead into singles action.

Seward dominated singles play with no spot being closer than 6-3, 6-1 which was at #4 where Delgado defeated Serena Wong.  The Lady Saints blanked Bethel in five different sets with Mia Rakotondrazafy, Mami Rakotondrazafy, and Rodrigues, as well as Tadi Mrewa and Madison Hoelting all earning wins to finish off a 9-0 sweep.

#10 SEWARD COUNTY/BETHEL MATCH RESULTS

After a short drive over to Lindsborgh, the Lady Saints stepped on the court against Bethany in their second match of the afternoon.  Unfortunately for the Lady Saints, the Swedes weren't quite in the mood for competition Saturday, contesting just four of the nine spots in the match.  Seward had the match won before they even began, collecting default wins at #2 and #3 doubles, as well as #4 through #6 singles.  The matches played might as well have been defaulted by Bethany as Seward won 8-1 at #1 doubles behind Mogopodi and Rodrigues while Mogopodi won 6-0, 6-2 at #1 singles and Delgado and Crizta Goslin both won 6-0, 6-0 at #2 and #3 to sweep the less than dramatic match 9-0.
