Men's Tennis National Tournament Starts May 17th

PLANO, Tex. - Seward County Community College will compete at the 2021men's tennis National Tournament in Plano, Texas from May 17th to May 21st. The Saints enter the National tournament ranked fourth in the nation. 

The tournament is set up into six individual draws and three double draws. Each program will place their team into each draw for an opportunity to receive points for their teams. For a first-round win the team will receive two points and for each win after their first win will be an additional point. If they lose their first-round match they will be placed into the backside of the bracket and will receive half of a point for each win. If the individual student-athletes lose any match that is not a first-round match they will be eliminated from the tournament. 

The Saints singles line up for the National tournament will be Luciano Fisicaro in the number one singles draw, Kyllian Savary in the number two draw, Raul Centeno will compete in the third draw, Juan Gonzalez in the number four draw, Martins Abamu in the fifth draw, and Enzo Frequelin in the sixth spot. Seward County will have a bye in the first round of some of these draws when the brackets are published later today. 

For the doubles draws the Saints will have Luciano Fisicaro and Raul Centeno in the number one draw. Kyllian Savary and Enzo Frequelin will be competing in the second doubles bracket, Juan Gonzalez and Franco Vecchia will compete in the third doubles bracket.

Seward County had their best finishes two years in a row with a third-place finish in 2019 and 2018.
