Second Straight Player of the Week Honor Bestowed to Stevenson

For the second straight week and third time in five weeks, Seward County sophomore Niem Stevenson has been named the Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week.  For week five of the season, Stevenson shares the honor with Barton's Dequandre Dentmond. 

It was a workman like week for Stevenson in this weekend's Garden City Thanksgiving Classic in the Perryman Center.  Stevenson scored 43 points in just 47 minutes of work over the two games, averaging 21.5 per game while shooting 56% from the field.  Friday against Western Iowa Tech, Stevenson scored 23 points and had 5 rebounds and 4 steals in 25 minutes of work.  Saturday he shot 50% from the field, scoring 20 points while dishing out 4 assists in another lopsided Seward victory. 

Stevenson will look to continue his hot start to the season on Wednesday as they Saints take on Allen on the road in Iola to open up the Jayhawk Conference season.
