Brandon Rix Inks With Lubbock Christian

The list of Seward County Saint Baseball players to sign during the 2014 early signing period grew on Monday as third baseman Brandon Rix put the pen to the paper to play at Lubbock Christian University.

After an extremely slow start to his freshman season in 2014 where Rix said in a post signing interview "I thought I was the worst player in America" Rix bounced back to have himself a quality first year for the Saints, hitting .266 with hits in 20 of his final 25 games of the year.  He had 12 multi-hit games for Seward in 2014 including a 3 hit effort against Pratt in which he hit his first career home run.

Rix turned the corner this summer and had a monster fall season for the Saints.  The Canon City, Colorado native hit a team best .438 with 26 RBI's while also stealing a pair of bases.  He struck out just 4 times, putting his career line at Seward County at just 1 strikeout every 11.4 at bats.

Rix will join current teammate Brandon Urquizo at Lubbock Christian next season.  Rix said of signing with the Chaps "everything felt right when I was on my visit there.  I really liked the baseball program, the classes, and the required chapel."
