Women’s Soccer Shutout by #12 Cougars

Liberal, KAN – Saturday afternoon the Seward County Lady Saints women's soccer team took on their fourth nationally ranked opponent of their inaugural season in the #12 Barton Cougars at home on Redskin Field where SCCC was unable to pull odd the upset as they fell to the nationally ranked Cougars in a 5-0 shutout.

The Lady Saints were unable to mount any momentum throughout their game against Barton on Saturday as the Cougars quickly made their presence known with an early goal at the only eight minutes into the game to go up 1-0 with another goal not to long after to make their lead 2-0 over Seward County heading into halftime.

The second half did not fair any better for the Lady Saints as once again Barton was able to score a quick goal at the 33:00-minute mark to go up 3-0 and SCCC couldn't answer back as the Cougars added on two more goals before the final horn to hand the Lady Saints a 5-0 shutout loss.

Seward County women's soccer now falls to 1-6-1 on their inaugural season with the same record in KJCCC action. They will head out to Kansas City for a two-game road trip to take on Kansas City Kansas on Wednesday at 5:00 PM and Metropolitan on Thursday at 3:00 PM.
