Gutierrez Leads Three Lady Saints in All-KJCCC Honors

After wrapping up the 2024 season this past weekend in the Region VI Tournament, the Seward County Lady Saints softball team saw three of their players named to the All-Conference teams led by Aaliyah Gutierrez who was named to the First Team while Raeana Ortiz and Anberlin O’Dell were placed on the Second Team.
Cartwright Earns Second KJCCC Player of the Week Honors

After leading the Seward County Saints to a 4-1 record this past week with a series win over Pratt to wrap up the regular season, sophomore Cameron Cartwright was named the KJCCC West Player of the Week for the second time in the 2024 season as the Saints wrap up their regular season with three of the last four player of the week honors.
Peoples Signs with Statesmen of William Penn

Eight Home Runs Leads Saints to Sweep Over Pratt

Sunday afternoon marked the final two games of the regular season for the Seward County Saints who honored their fifteen sophomores before taking on the Pratt Beavers where four home run bombs in each game led the Saints baseball team to a 3-1 series win heading into postseason action this upcoming week.

After going undefeated in day one of the NJCAA National Tournament, the Lady Saints picked up another 8 wins and 11.5 points to now only trail first place by 3.5 points heading into the Quarterfinals on Monday.
Lady Saints End Season Despite Late Comeback

Day one of the Region VI Tournament was a tale of two games for Seward County as they dominated game one 13-0 against the Trojans before collapsing 16-0 in a loss to Butler. On day two the Lady Saints took the field against Dodge City where despite a three-run homer in the seventh by Alyna Frazier to stay in reach, Seward County saw their 2024 season come to an unfortunate end.

Second year Head Coach Brett Bridel has led the Lady Saints Tennis program back to nationals in Tyler, Texas for the second straight year after placing 6th in 2023. This years’ team is off to a great start going 6-0 (12 Points, 3rd Place) on day one while having the #4, #5, and #6 Singles earn a bye until tomorrow’s second round.
Home Run Bombs Lead to Split against Beavers

The final week of the 2024 regular season is finally here and the Saints kicked off their four-game series with the Pratt Beavers on the road where Seward County fell behind early in game one but came back for a 12-7 win off some big home run hits but could not repeat their success in game two as they split on the day 1-1 with Pratt.
Lady Saints Triumph Over Trojans but Fall to Grizzlies

On Saturday the Region VI Tournament kicked off with the fifth seeded Seward County Lady Saints softball team taking on the fourth seeded Colby Trojans where SCCC got revenge from their last encounter with a 13-0 win to advance into the semifinals of the winner’s bracket but fell soon after to the number one seed in the Butler Grizzlies.

Seward County struggled to take down Colby twenty-four hours ago as the Saints fell behind in the series 2-1 entering Monday’s contest where Keagon Pitton led the way for SCCC to topple the Trojans 11-6 to split the series to start the final week of the regular season in 2024.
Lady Saints End Regular Season with Loss to Butler

Seward County softball started their conference schedule on fire but lately have seen their flame drowned over the past week and a half as the Lady Saints now end their regular season schedule with two losses against the one seeded Butler Grizzlies in El Dorado as both teams now prepare for the Region VI playoffs.
Saints Resume Series but Fall to Trojans in Doubleheader

After having cut game two short this past Wednesday after three innings, Seward County and Colby resumed their second matchup in Liberal on Sunday afternoon where the Trojans took down the Saints with a walk-off homer in the ninth and then beat SCCC again in game three of the series 11-9 as Seward County fell behind in the series 2-1.
