28 Seward County student-athletes were recognized by the NJCAA for their hard work in the classroom this year as they were awarded NJCAA All-Academic honors for the 2022-2023 school year.

Logan Dodge signs with Western New Mexico University

LIBERAL, Kan. – Local talent, Logan Dodge had a big crowd on hand to wish her well as she signed on to her four-year university. Logan Dodge has signed with NCAA Division 2 school Western New Mexico University, after two seasons with the Lady Saints Volleyball program.
Cambraia and Sales sign to 4 year Universities

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College's volleyball program has two student-athletes sign on to their four-year Universities. Ana Cambraia has signed with Delaware State University, an NCAA Division 1 program, and Jessica Sales has signed on with Western New Mexico University, an NCAA Division 2 program.
Wilson hired as Head Women's Volleyball Coach

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College is excited to announce Aubrey Wilson as the tenth head coach of the Lady Saints Volleyball program. Wilson served as the assistant coach during the 2022 season as Seward County went on to an NJCAA national tournament appearance, a Region VI title, and a Plains District championship. As an assistant coach last season, the Lady Saints were 31-8 and went 14-2 in conference action.
Frugoli Departs from Seward County, Thank you Coach!

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College sees the departure of Head Volleyball Coach Geno Frugoli. Froguli has been the head coach of the Lady Saints since 2020 and spent three seasons in the position at Seward County. This past season was the best in his tenure with a 31-8 overall record, Co-KJCCC regular season title, Region VI and Plains District championship, and finished the NJCAA national tournament 11th. While at Seward County, Frugoli accumulated a 76-23 (.767) overall record and a 41-7 (.854) conference record and kept the Lady Saints ranked in the top 20 of the NJCAA year after year.
Seyun Park receives NJCAA 1st team All-American honors and AVCA 2nd Team honors

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seyun Park receives post-season awards as she is named an NJCAA first-team All-American and Athletic Volleyball Coaches Association second-team member on December 1st, 2022. Park led the NJCAA with a .396 hitting percentage, led the team in total kills with 355, and total attacks with 709. This past season she also received Region VI MVP honors and was a member of the Region VI first team for the third straight year as she used her COVID year at Seward County.
The Lady Saints finish the 2022 season 11th in the NJCAA

WEST PLAINS, Mo. - Seward County Community College concludes its season with a semifinal loss to New Mexico Military Institute 3-1 on Friday, November 18th. The No. 11 Lady Saints won the first set 25-14 but lost the next three sets 30-28, 25-22, and 25-16. Seward County finishes the 2022 season with a 31-8 record and 11th place at the NJCAA National Tournament.
Seward County defeats Eastern Arizona 3-0 in the Consolation Bracket NJCAA Tournament

WEST PLAINS, Mo. - Seward County Community College bounces back on day two of the NJCAA National Tournament with a 3-0 sweep over Eastern Arizona College in the consolation bracket. The Lady Saints defeated the Monsters with set scores 25-15, 26-24, and 25-22 on Friday morning. With the victory, Seward County advances to the semifinals of the consolation bracket and will face No. 10 New Mexico Military Institute at 4:30 p.m. CT.
Seward County falls in the first round of Nationals to Miami Dade

WEST PLAINS, MO. - Seward County Community College falls in the first round of the 2022 NJCAA National Tournament to Miami Dade in straight sets 3-0. The No. 11 Lady Saints fell with set scores of 25-18, 25-22, and 25-10 to the No. 4 Sharks. With the loss in the first round, the Lady Saints will compete in the consolation bracket tomorrow at 10 a.m. against No. 14 Eastern Arizona Community College. The last time Seward County lost in the first round was during the 2016 National Tournament when they fell to Polk State 3-0.
Four Lady Saints earn All-Conference awards and Frugoli named Coach of the Year

LIBERAL, Kan. - The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) announced the all-conference teams. The Lady Saints have four student-athletes recognized with Head Coach Geno Frugoli named KJCCC Coach of the Year. Seyun Park is named the most valuable player in the KJCCC and named to the all-conference first team for the third straight season. Sarah Cruz was named to the KJCCC first-team all-conference for the second straight season as she earned the MVP honors last season. Freshman Rafaela DaSilva is named to the first team all-conference, and sophomore transfer Aubreigh Haxton was named honorable mention in the conference.
The Lady Saints claim the Region VI and Plains District Championship

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College claims the Region VI and Plains District championship with a 3-1 victory over Butler Community College on Saturday, November 5th. The Lady Saints advance to the NJCAA National Tournament in West Plains, Missouri, with the first round on November 17th, and their opponent will be announced at a later date.
