Lady Saints extend winning streak to seven with victory over Colorado College

GREELEY, Colo. – The No. 7 Seward County Community College women's tennis team breezed past Colorado College, 5-0, on Sunday for their seventh straight win. The Lady Saints improved to 10-3 overall.

Seward took a commanding 3-0 lead by winning all three doubles matches. No. 3 Alisa Handrugan and Eva Liu started things off with a shutout of Lily Salzman and Gaby Jadotte at 8-0. No. 2 Alena Macharova and Sofia Belluco cruised past Tess Rubin and Elise Chassman, 8-1, and No. 1 Patricia Panta and Maria Aveiga defeated Annie Zlevor and Simone Hall, 8-2, to complete the sweep.

In singles, the teams played until the first one reached five points or clinched. The Lady Saints easily won the first two contests to clinch the match. No. 1 Panta beat Rubin, 6-0, 6-0 and No. 2 Aveiga blanked Zlevor, 6-0, 6-0. Macharova, the only other match in progress, was ahead 6-2, 3-0.

The Lady Saints play at Barton Community College on Wednesday.
