No. 5 Lady Saints stay undefeated with over Collin College

PLANO, Texas – The fifth-ranked Seward County Community College women's tennis team posted a 7-2 team win at Collin College on Thursday.

The Lady Saints won four of the six singles matches and swept all three doubles contests. Seward improved to 3-0 on the season.

In singles, No. 1 Patricia Panta, No. 2 Maria Aveiga, No. 3 Alena Macharova and No. 4 Sofia Belluco led the way for Seward with victories.

Panta defeated Sonja Dobrowolski, 6-2, 6-1, Aveiga beat Makeilah Turner, 6-4, 6-0, Macharova knocked off Nicole Maldonado, 6-0, 6-2 and Belluco downed Sydney Albro, 6-3, 6-1. Eva Liu lost for Seward at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-10, to Andrea Farris. The Lady Saints also defaulted at No. 6 singles.

In doubles, top team Panta and Aveiga beat Turner and Dobrowolski, 8-2, Macharova and Belluco beat Farris and Albro, 8-4 and Alisa Handrugan and Liu ousted Rebekah Clark and Taylor Chapman, 8-3.
