Lady Saints Fall to Oklahoma Baptist University

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The No. 4 Seward County women's tennis team lost their match on Saturday (Mar. 31) losing to NCAA Division II competition Oklahoma Baptist. The loss puts the Lady Saints at 11-5 on the season.

The No.1 doubles match finished first with Seward's Patricia Panta and Steffany Bermundez losing 8-1. Megan Petr and Yusra Hegy lost at No.3  8-2. Alena Macharova and Martina Borges lost at No.2 in a close match 8-6.

In the singles spot, OBU's Moosbacher defeated Macharova in the No.2 spot to start singles, 6-2, 6-2.  Bermundez fell in the No.3 spot 6-1, 6-2 to guarentee the Bisons victory, and Panta lost in the No.1 spot 6-2, 7-5. Borges lost 6-1, 6-0 in the No.4 spot, while Yursa Hegy was defeated in the No.5 spot 6-4, 6-2.  The Lady Saints ended the match with Megan Petr losing 6-4, 6-4.

Seward will be back in action on Friday (Apr. 6) when they travel to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to play New Mexico Military Institute and the following day Seminole State College.
