Seward's Wagner Named West Pitcher of the Week For Second Straight Week

As she did one week ago, Seward County sophomore Jaclyn Wagner has once again been named the Jayhawk West Pitcher of the Week as released by league officials on Tuesday.

Wagner was 3-0 this week for Seward, drawing three starts without allowing an earned run.  Monday, Wagner spun a one hitter against Clarendon, striking out 7 to lead the Lady Saints to a 10-1 win.  Wednesday she was back in the circle again, tossing her fifth straight complete game, allowing just 4 hits and 2 unearned runs in a victory over Dodge City.  Her only hiccup came in relief against Barton on Friday, but she backed that up with an impressive six hit shutout of the Cougars in game two of the doubleheader, handing the Jayhawk West's best offense a shutout for just the second time in 39 games this season.

Wagner and the Jayhawk West leading Lady Saints will return to the diamond on Wednesday at Garden City before heading to Lamar this weekend for a pair of non-conference doubleheaders.
