Former Lady Saints Starring at the Next Level

With softball season in full swing, there is no better time to check in on our former student-athletes that are currently playing at the next level. 

 

Bianca Adame- Senior- Fort Hays State University- NCAA Division II

Adame has been a staple in the Tigers lineup the past two seasons and is having a sensational senior campaign for Fort Hays.  She leads the team with 51 hits, 28 runs, 26 stolen bases and 5 triples this season and ranks second on the team with a .340 batting average.  Adame has started all 43 games for the Tigers, helping Fort Hays to a 26-17 record. 

 

Breanna Diaz- Senior- Western New Mexico University- NCAA Division II

Diaz has played in 40 and started 30 games this season for the Mustangs.  She is hitting .198 on the season with 2 doubles and 9 RBI's this year.  A slick fielding infielder, Diaz is third on the team with a .954 fielding percentage with just 4 errors in 87 chances this season. 

 

Jill Dickson- Senior- Dakota Wesleyan University- NAIA

Dickson has pitched at the front of the Dakota Wesleyan rotation this season, leading the team in every major pitching category including wins (10), ERA (2.23), innings pitched (97 1/3), and strikeouts (85).  Dickson is 10-5 on the season and has helped the Tigers to a 15-11 overall record and a 6-6 mark in GPAC play.  She ranks in the top 7 in the GPAC in wins, ERA, innings pitched, and strikeouts. 

 

Michelle Duford- Junior- Mercy College- NCAA Division II

When healthy this season, Duford has been a fixture in the Mercy lineup, playing in 25 and starting 23 games for the Mavericks.  She is hitting .265 on the season with 3 doubles, a home run and 8 RBI's and is sixth on the team in on base percentage, reaching the sacks at a clip of .351.   

 

Jenna Keen- Sophomore- Midwest Nazarene University- NAIA

Keen has played in 5 games, starting 4 for Midwest Nazarene during her sophomore season.  She is hitting .200 with a home run and 2 RBI's in 15 at bats.  The Pioneers are 16-8 on the year and 9-3, where they sit second in HAAC action. 

 

Ashley Kirkes- Redshirt Junior- Friends University- NAIA

Kirkes has been a key piece for the 29-11 Falcons this season, starting 33 games in the outfield for Friends.  Kirkes is hitting .322 with a pair of doubles, a triple, and 11 RBI's for Friends and her .410 on base percentage is fourth best among Falcon regulars.   

 

Stephanie Mark- Junior- Northwest Missouri State University- NCAA Division II

Following a record breaking career with the Lady Saints the last two seasons, Mark has began doing more of the same for Northwest Missouri State this season.  Mark leads the Bearcats in home runs (9), doubles (12), and RBI's (50), and is second on the team with a .379 batting average.  She ranks 3rd in the MIAA in RBI's and doubles and  is 6th in home runs on the year.  She was recently named the MIAA Player of the Week. 

 

Taylor McDougall- Senior- Morgan State University- NCAA Division I

Now in her second season with the Division I Bears, McDougall has started every single game this year for Morgan State, seeing time at catcher and third base.  McDougall is second on the team with 3 doubles and 2 home runs and is hitting .224 with 6 RBI's in 17 games for the Bears. 

 

Erin Scott- Junior- University of Sioux Falls- NCAA Division II

Scott is off to a spectacular start for the Cougars, leading them to a 26-8 record and a 14-4 mark in NSIC play thus far.  Scott has started all 34 games for Sioux Falls, hitting .377 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 17 RBI's.  She has been just as good on defense as she has on offense as well, posting a .967 fielding percentage with just 1 error in 30 chances on the season. 

 

Brittany Sharkey- Junior- Friends University- NAIA

After a breakout campaign for the Lady Saints last season, Sharkey has pitched in 18 and started 14 games for Friends this season.  She is 7-6 on the year with a 4.24 ERA while striking out 35 in 76 innings of work.  She currently ranks 11th in the KCAC in innings pitched as well as wins. 

 

Rachel Shockley- Junior- Friends University- NAIA

Shockley picked up at Friends right where she left off with the Lady Saints last season.  She has played in all 40 games for the Falcons, starting 39 while helping Friends to a 29-11 record.  Shockley is in the top four on the team in batting average (.339), hits (38), doubles (6), home runs (4), and RBI's (25) this season. 

 

Blaire Taylor- Senior- Friends University- NAIA

Taylor has been a bonafide ace for the Falcons this season, leading Friends to a 29-11 record thus far and an 8-3 mark in KCAC play.  Taylor is the Falcons leader in wins (12), innings pitched (114 2/3), and strikeouts (54), among other categories.  Her 12 wins on the year are tied for the league lead and her 114 2/3 innings pitched for the Falcons are second best in the KCAC.
