M’Madi Earns Honorable Mention After Stellar Freshman Season

Saints Season Comes to an End in Garden City

Seward County men’s basketball saw their season come to an end in Garden City where the Saints fell in the first round of the Region VI Tournament to the Broncbusters where despite a great showing from the freshman trio of Mathias M’Madi, Dave Olaniyi, and Carson Bennett, SCCC was unable to upset the sixth seeded Garden City who grabbed a 78-65 win over the Saints.
Saints End Regular Season with Loss to Pratt

Five sophomores were honored for the Saints on Wednesday night where the Seward County Saints ended their regular season against the Pratt Beavers inside of the Green House and despite a career high of 37 points for Mathias M’Madi, the Saints fell in their regular season finale 88-84 before entering the Region VI Tournament this weekend.
Olaniyi Career High Leads Saints Back into Win Column

The last time Seward County faced off with Independence it was a buzzer beater by the Saints that secured the win in game one, but it did not come down to the wire in the second matchup as a career night for Dave Olaniyi propelled SCCC in front late in the game to grab a definitive 92-81 win over the Pirates.

Seward County took the court with the Colby Trojans with key standings implications on the line where despite a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, it was Colby who grabbed the five-point win 80-75 over the Saints on the road.
Saints Fall Hard to the Blue Dragons on Hall of Fame Night

After taking down their longtime rival in Dodge City this past Wednesday, the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team returned to action on their home floor in the Green House against the #15 Hutchinson Blue Dragons where SCCC was unable to pull off another upset with Hutch taking down the Saints 74-59.

After a rough couple of weeks, the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team snapped their cold streak with a huge win over their longtime rival in the Dodge City Conquistadors on the road where sophomore Nathan Jones led the way with a near double-double to lift his squad to an 80-75 win over their Jayhawk Conference foe.
Saints Losing Streak Continues with Loss to Broncbusters

A long time rivalry that has seen the series go back and forth over the years between Seward County and Garden City made its way back to the Green House on Saturday where the two rivals competed tooth and nail with each other before the Broncbusters managed to pull away in the second half and take an 81-71 win over the Saints on SCCC’s home court.
Saints Fall on the Road to No. 2 Barton

It’s been a tough road for the Seward County Saints since beginning the second half of conference action and Wednesday’s matchup was not any easier as the Saints men’s basketball team made the trip out east to take on the number two ranked team in the NJCAA Barton where the Cougars knocked off SCCC 86-55 in Great Bend.
Saints Losing Streak Grows to Five with Loss to Coffeyville

The past few weeks have been a downslope for the Saints basketball team and their slide continued Saturday as they faced off against the Coffeyville Red Ravens where despite being able to match them point for point and even taking a late lead midway through the second half, a big run from Coffeyville handed Seward County their fifth straight loss 90-79.
Saints’ Struggles Continue with Loss to Mavericks

Turnovers proved to be the downfall for the Saints as they coughed up the ball 29 times on the road against the Mavericks of NW Kansas Tech and even though Seward County was able to get 61 points from their bench, they could not stop the Mavs from grabbing an 89-79 win over the green and white.

After a tough stretch over the past week, the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team faced off against their second straight nationally ranked opponent in the #22 Butler Grizzlies where despite matching them point for point in the second half, the Saints were unable to climb back from a 17-point deficit at halftime as they fell 78-61.
Saints Stopped on the Road Against #12 Cowley

Seward County entered Arkansas City, Kansas with revenge on their mind as they went head-to-head with one of the top teams in the country in the #12 Cowley Tigers where the Saints were unable to stop Cowley from taking over the game in the opening seconds as Seward County fell 91-68 against their Jayhawk conference foe.
Saints Fall Short Against Cloud County

The second half of conference action has started in the Jayhawk and the Saints enter on a hot streak with a three-game win streak to take on the Cloud County Thunderbirds where despite Ryle Riddlespurger knocking down nine threes on the night, it was not enough to beat the T-Birds who snatched away a 73-71 win over Seward County.
Saints Secure Third Straight with Win Over Beavers

Saturday afternoon the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team made the two-hour trip to Pratt, Kansas to take on the Beavers where a hot shooting Ryle Riddlespurger helped spark a flame for SCCC that Pratt was unable to put out as the Saints took the game 82-70 to end the first half of KJCCC action on a three-game win streak.
Saints Take Down Independence Off of Whitlock’s Game Winner

After knocking off the Colby Trojans this past Saturday for their first win in two months, the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team stepped up to the challenge once again as they knocked off the Independence Pirates in a close 81-79 win thanks to a game winning three from Amir Whitlock to clinch a Saints’ win.
