Seward County men’s basketball saw their season come to an end in Garden City where the Saints fell in the first round of the Region VI Tournament to the Broncbusters where despite a great showing from the freshman trio of Mathias M’Madi, Dave Olaniyi, and Carson Bennett, SCCC was unable to upset the sixth seeded Garden City who grabbed a 78-65 win over the Saints.

Five sophomores were honored for the Saints on Wednesday night where the Seward County Saints ended their regular season against the Pratt Beavers inside of the Green House and despite a career high of 37 points for Mathias M’Madi, the Saints fell in their regular season finale 88-84 before entering the Region VI Tournament this weekend.

The second half of conference action has started in the Jayhawk and the Saints enter on a hot streak with a three-game win streak to take on the Cloud County Thunderbirds where despite Ryle Riddlespurger knocking down nine threes on the night, it was not enough to beat the T-Birds who snatched away a 73-71 win over Seward County.

Saturday afternoon the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team made the two-hour trip to Pratt, Kansas to take on the Beavers where a hot shooting Ryle Riddlespurger helped spark a flame for SCCC that Pratt was unable to put out as the Saints took the game 82-70 to end the first half of KJCCC action on a three-game win streak.

After knocking off the Colby Trojans this past Saturday for their first win in two months, the Seward County Saints men’s basketball team stepped up to the challenge once again as they knocked off the Independence Pirates in a close 81-79 win thanks to a game winning three from Amir Whitlock to clinch a Saints’ win.
